Updated: Aug 1, 2022

NEW YORK, NY – The Detectives' Endowment Agency Inc., the organization that represents more than 18,000 active and retired NYPD Detectives have endorsed Yorktown Supervisor Matt Slater for the 94th Assembly District.

Paul DiGiacomo, President of the DEA said, "We are pleased to endorse Matt Slater for the New York State Assembly. We trust that he will fight for the needs of blue collar laborers, especially those who proudly wear the shield of the NYPD. We know Matt Slater supports our political and legislative agendas in this era of attacks against police and he will be a strong voice in Albany for our members and the safety of all New Yorkers."

"To have the support of the greatest detectives in the world is an incredible honor," Slater said. "The men and women of the NYPD, including our detectives, have become victims of the Democrats' pro-criminal policies that even New York City Mayor Eric Adams is calling for a repeal of. Reversing the dangerous cashless bail system that fails to hold criminals accountable is among my top priorities when I get to Albany."

Slater is the endorsed Republican and Conservative candidate having successfully turned in five times the required number of signatures to be on the ballot. He has earned prominent endorsements by statewide and local organizations including LIUNA, the Affiliated Police Assoication of Westchester, North Atlantic Council of Carpenters, the Westchester County Correction Officers Benevolent Association and IAFF 2956 among others.

The 94th Assembly District includes Carmel, Kent, Patterson, Putnam Valley, Somers, Southeast and parts of Yorktown. Election Day is November 8th.
