Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown) was happy to partner with Putnam Community  Action Partnership (CAP) again to provide much-needed feminine hygiene products to their clients throughout Putnam County. An outstanding 267 items were collected benefitting more than 200 women and teen girls.

Menstrual products are a modern-day necessity, every woman from every economic background has a need for them which is why Slater introduced a proposal that allows SNAP benefits to be used to purchase menstrual products (A.10130).

“We appreciate the partnership of all the towns in the 94th Assembly District that provided drop-off locations, making it quick and accessible for all residents to participate throughout the month of May. It really makes a difference when we come together to help our neighbors in need,” said Slater.

“We thank Assemblyman Slater and his team for recognizing that feminine hygiene products are a basic necessity and for organizing this drive on Putnam CAP's behalf. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our community. This donation will allow us to assist more than 200 women and teen girls with these much-needed items. We are grateful for the Assemblyman's partnership in working toward a healthier community for all,” said Marisa O’Leary, director of Putnam Community Action Partnership.
