YORKTOWN, NY – The New York State Supreme Court Officers Association has endorsed Matt Slater for the 94th Assembly District. Slater, who is currently the Supervisor of the Town of Yorktown, has secured the Republican and Conservative endorsement after successfully filing the needed petitions earlier this month.
Patrick Cullen, President of the New York State Court Officers Association said, "Matt Slater's dedication to helping others is evident by his lengthy and accomplished career. Our members respect and support of our profession. Matt's ardor for duty and service is manifest throughout his life and career and that makes our Association proud to endorse him for election to the New York State Assembly."
"I am proud to receive the support of this great organization and their 2,500 members," Slater said. "Our court officers provide a critical service that protects and advances the judicial system. They see firsthand the utter failures of the bail reforms that have made us our neighborhoods less safe."
The SCOA consists of uniformed officers in the courts throughout the five boroughs of New York City as well as Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange and Dutchess Counties. We are affiliated with the A.F.L.-C.I.O. and the International Longshoreman’s Association.
Slater has been receiving broad support from law enforcement groups including the White Plains PBA, Westchester County Correction Officers Benevolent Association and the Affiliated Police Associations of Westchester.
