New York State Professional Fire Fighters Join Growing Team Supporting Slater For Assembly


MOHEGAN LAKE, NY – The organization that represents more than 18,000 professional firefighters and paramedics across New York State have joined the growing team of first responders supporting Yorktown Supervisor Matt Slater in his bid for the New York State Assembly.


Sam Fresina, President of the Association said, "Matt Slater has a proven track record of working to provide the necessary resources to help our members stay safe and protect the communities they serve. We are confident he is the right person to fill this important position."

George Rocha, President of Yonkers Firefighters Local 628 added, "Yonkers Firefighters Local 628 echoes and applauds the endorsement of Matt Slater for New York State Assembly. Throughout his career Matt Slater has proven to be a strong advocate for firefighters and first responders. He will be a strong voice for our members and a great advocate for public safety."


Slater was previously endorsed by the Lake Mohegan Professional Firefighters Local 2956. Kenneth See, President of Local 2956 said, "During the COVID-19 pandemic he worked diligently to ensure we had the necessary equipment so we could safely continue to help those in need. Supervisor Slater has been great partner and will be a terrific advocate for professional firefighters in the New York State Assembly."


Matt Slater said, "I have been and always will be unapologetically supportive of the brave men and women who serve and protect our families. I have demonstrated this commitment on the local level and I am honored to have their confidence to continue this advocacy on the state level."


Slater is the endorsed Republican and Conservative candidate currently serving in his second term as Yorktown Supervisor. He has earned prominent endorsements by statewide and local organizations including the Detectives' Endowment Association, LIUNA, the Affiliated Police Association of Westchester, North Atlantic Council of Carpenters, the Westchester County Correction Officers Benevolent Association, UWUA Local 1-2 and New York League of Conservation Voters among others.


The 94th Assembly District includes Carmel, Kent, Patterson, Putnam Valley, Somers, Southeast and parts of Yorktown. Election Day is November 8th.
