SLATER ANNOUNCES 4TH ANNUAL SENIOR RESOURCE FAIRS

Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown) announced the return of his 4th Annual Senior Resource Fairs, with three events scheduled throughout Putnam and northern Westchester counties this October.

The free events will provide seniors, caregivers and family members with an opportunity to connect directly with organizations and service providers offering information on elder care, Medicare, assisted living, state and county services, Alzheimer’s and memory care and other important resources.

“Every year, our Senior Resource Fairs bring together an incredible range of organizations that are ready to help our seniors and their families,” said Slater. “Whether someone has questions about Medicare, is looking into care options for a loved one or simply wants to learn more about the services available in our community, these fairs provide an opportunity to get answers and make those connections all in one place. I encourage seniors, caregivers and family members to join us this October.”

This year’s Senior Resource Fairs will be held:

• Thursday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon at Putnam County Golf Course, 187 Hill St., Mahopac;

• Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon at Jefferson Village Community Center, 3500 Hill Blvd., Yorktown Heights; and

• Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to noon at Patterson Recreation Center, 65 Front St., Patterson.

Prescription medication drop-off will also be available at the Mahopac and Yorktown Heights fairs. Residents utilizing the service are asked to bring unused or expired medication in a Ziploc bag for safe disposal.

“Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for residents to find the information and assistance they need,” Slater said. “I’m looking forward to welcoming everyone back for another year and connecting our seniors with the tremendous resources available throughout Putnam and Westchester counties.”

The Senior Resource Fairs are free and open to seniors, caregivers and family members.
