SLATER RECOGNIZES YORKTOWN TIRE AUTO CARE AS AN HISTORIC BUSINESS FOR OVER 55 YEARS OF SERVICE

Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown) recently celebrated Yorktown Tire Auto Care’s recognition on the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry, honoring the family-owned business for more than 55 years of dedicated service to motorists throughout Yorktown and the Hudson Valley. Slater also issued a New York State Assembly proclamation recognizing the business’s longstanding commitment to quality automotive care, customer service and the local community.
For more than five decades, Yorktown Tire Auto Care has remained a family-owned, full-service auto repair shop, serving generations of residents while building lasting relationships throughout the community. Now in its third generation of family ownership, the business has continued its tradition of dependable automotive care and customer service and has become a valued part of Yorktown’s local economy and history.
“The Froats family has been part of the fabric of Yorktown for generations, and this recognition is especially meaningful to me on a personal level. I grew up with Ryan and his sisters, and I’ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand the pride this family takes in serving our community,” said Slater. “Today, Ryan carries on the legacy his grandfather and father built as the third-generation owner of Yorktown Tire and Auto Center. That kind of family tradition, hard work, and commitment to your neighbors is exactly what makes Yorktown such a special place to call home. Small, family-owned businesses like this are the backbone of our local economy, but more importantly, they are part of the heart and soul of our community. I was incredibly proud to nominate Yorktown Tire and Auto Center for this historic recognition by New York State, and even prouder to celebrate this well-deserved honor with a family I’ve known for years.”
“As a third-generation business owner, I feel immense pride in coming to work to service the community that helped raise me and turned me into the person I am today,” said Ryan Froats, owner of Yorktown Tire Auto Care. “I consider myself incredibly fortunate to love what I do, and I’m indebted to the countless family members, customers and employees that helped us achieve this honor. I look forward to building on our legacy and am thankful to Assemblyman Slater and his staff for helping us throughout this process!”
Throughout its history, Yorktown Tire Auto Care has established itself as a trusted local business, contributing to the economic vitality and character of the Town of Yorktown. Its recognition on the statewide registry celebrates not only its longevity but also the generations of family members, employees and customers who have helped sustain the business for more than half a century.
Established by New York state in 2020, the Historic Business Preservation Registry recognizes businesses that have operated for at least 50 years and have contributed to the history, heritage and identity of their communities. Yorktown Tire Auto Care’s inclusion honors its decades of service and enduring impact on the Hudson Valley.
