ASSEMBLYMAN SLATER CELEBRATES COMPLETION OF PATTERSON LIBRARY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C–Yorktown) is happy to announce the successful completion of the Patterson Library’s renovation project, made possible in part by $20,000 in state bullet aid secured by Slater in August of last year.

The project, which broke ground in May, has revitalized the Adult Library space to better serve patrons’ needs and create a more welcoming, functional environment for the entire community. Upgrades include two new reading nooks with comfortable seating and tables, lower shelving for improved accessibility, updated HVAC and lighting systems to increase energy efficiency and refreshed carpeting and paint.

“Walking into the renovated space, you can feel the difference,” said Slater. “I was proud to help secure funding for Patterson Library, and I’m thrilled to see these improvements completed. I’m grateful to everyone who worked hard to make this happen, and I can’t wait to see Patterson residents enjoy the improvements.”

Patterson Library Director Stephanie Harrison said, “Our Adult Library Renovation project has transformed the library into a more comfortable, accessible and inviting space for everyone who uses it. New reading nooks and study areas give patrons places to focus, learn, and relax, while improved shelving and building upgrades make the library easier to navigate and enjoy. We’re especially grateful to Assemblyman Matt Slater for his $20,000 contribution toward the new shelving, which helped make these improvements possible and strengthens the library’s role as a welcoming space for our community.”
