Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C–Yorktown) is continuing his “Chat with Matt” series following a successful first round of events held across the district, bringing together local leaders and residents for open conversations on issues impacting the Hudson Valley.

Throughout the series, Slater was joined by local officials, including Carmel Councilman Rob Kearns, Yorktown Supervisor Ed Lachterman, Somers Councilwoman Gina Arena and Somers Supervisor Rob Scorrano. The events provided an opportunity for residents to ask questions, share concerns and engage directly with their elected officials.

“We had great conversations about a number of important issues facing the Hudson Valley, and I want to make sure they continue,” said Slater. “I look forward to these open discussions and hearing directly from residents so I can better advocate for them in Albany.”

Local leaders emphasized the importance of accessibility and collaboration between all levels of government.

“Events like ‘Chat with Matt’ are exactly what good government should look like—open, accessible and responsive,” said Carmel Councilman Rob Kearns. “These conversations give residents a real opportunity to hear directly about what’s happening in Albany and be part of the process.”

“It was great to meet with Assemblyman Matt Slater and Councilwoman Gina Arena at the Somers Library for ‘Chat with Matt,’” said Somers Supervisor Rob Scorrano. “It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with residents and hear their concerns firsthand.”

“It is so refreshing to work together with Assemblyman Matt Slater,” added Somers Councilwoman Gina Arena. “Strong relationships between local, state and federal officials are critical to delivering real solutions for our communities.”

Yorktown Supervisor Ed Lachterman also praised the series, noting, “It is always great to see the accessibility Assemblyman Slater offers to the community. I truly appreciate the opportunity to join him in answering questions from our residents.”

Slater will continue the “Chat with Matt” series with upcoming events across the district:

April 4 at 9:30 a.m. with Kent Supervisor Jaime McGlasson

April 4 at 11 a.m. with Southeast Supervisor Joe Castellano

April 12 at 11 a.m. with Putnam County Clerk Michael Bartolotti in Patterson

Residents are encouraged to stop by, enjoy a cup of coffee and participate in a friendly conversation about the issues impacting their communities. “These conversations help ensure the voices of our community are heard and represented,” Slater added.
