Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown) recently hosted a highly successful Senior Resource Event, bringing together local seniors, families, caregivers, and a wide range of service providers to help them access important resources and information. The event, held in Yorktown Heights, saw a large turnout as seniors from across the district took advantage of the opportunity to connect with experts in healthcare, financial planning, legal services, and senior care.
The Event hosted over 50 vendors with representatives from assisted living facilities, hospital services, elder care attorneys, and many more. Attendees were able to ask questions, receive personalized advice, and learn about programs that are specifically designed to meet the needs of older adults in the community.
“As our senior population continues to grow, it’s essential that they have access to the services and information that will help them lead healthy, secure, and fulfilling lives,” said Slater. “I’m thrilled by the turnout and engagement at this event, and I’m grateful to all of the local organizations and experts who were on hand to provide valuable resources to our seniors.”
“Senior resource events play a vital role in ensuring that our older adults have access to the services they need to thrive,” said Yorktown Supervisor Ed Lachterman. “I’d like to thank Assemblyman Slater for organizing this event and fostering independence, safety, and well-being for our senior community, which is something we’re committed to supporting in Yorktown.”
Slater will be hosting a second senior resource event Tuesday, October 8, from 10 am-12 pm in Patterson for those who were unable to attend the first one. Slater looks forward to hosting more of these events as it continues to support our beloved seniors and their families navigate vital sources.
