Slater Lands Prominent CSEA Endorsement In Race For Assembly

ALBANY, NY – The Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) which represents more than 300,000 active and retired public and private sector employees has endorsed Matt Slater for the 94th Assembly District. CSEA leadership pointed Slater's strong record tackling decades long pay inequity issues within the Town of Yorktown as well as his strong leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic.

CSEA is Yorktown's largest union that provides key municipal services. As Yorktown Town Supervisor, Slater negotiated a five year contract extension, ended a decades long pay inequity for local librarians and navigated the COVID-19 pandemic without cutting jobs or services.

Anthony Adamo, President of CSEA Region 3 said, "Whether as Chief of Staff for State Senator Terrence Murphy, or in his current role as Yorktown Town Supervisor, Matt Slater has always stood with our members to ensure they are able to keep a roof over their heads and food on their table. I watched firsthand as Matt partnered with our local unit during the COVID-19 pandemic to prioritize the health and safety of our workers. He will be a great advocate in the New York State Assembly and we look forward to our continued success together."

Matt Slater said, "As a former CSEA member I take great pride in this endorsement. I am proud of the work we have done in Yorktown and look forward to being a strong voice in the state legislature for the blue collar workers who keep our communities working. On their behalf, and on the behalf of all New Yorkers, I know how important it is for us to pursue policies that allow middle-class men and women to live, work and retiree in New York State. With partners like CSEA, I know we can turn New York State around."

The 94th Assembly District includes Carmel, Kent, Patterson, Putnam Valley, Somers, Southeast and parts of Yorktown. Election Day is November 8th.
