ASSEMBLYMAN MATT SLATER ANNOUNCES $40,000 IN BULLET AID FUNDING FOR LOCAL LIBRARIES

Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown) today announced $40,000 in state bullet aid funding has been secured for two community institutions: John C. Hart Memorial Library in Yorktown and Mahopac Public Library. The funding will help both libraries continue providing valuable educational resources, modern facilities and expanded programming for residents throughout the community. 


John C. Hart Memorial Library will use its funding to continue enhancing library services by improving community spaces, expanding innovative programming and providing additional resources for patrons of all ages.


Mahopac Public Library will use its funding to modernize the audio-visual equipment in its Third Floor Meeting Room and improve lighting in the Community Room. These upgrades will increase accessibility and flexibility while creating a more welcoming space for collaboration, educational programming, civic engagement and community events.


“Our public libraries serve as cornerstones of our communities, providing educational opportunities, technology, programming and gathering spaces for residents of every age,” said Slater. “I’m proud to secure this funding so both the John C. Hart Memorial Library and Mahopac Public Library can continue enhancing the outstanding services they provide. Whether it's expanding programs, improving facilities or investing in technology, these projects will ensure our libraries remain vibrant community resources for years to come.”

Hart Memorial Library Director Yvonne Cech said, “On behalf of our library and the entire community of Yorktown that we serve, we are deeply grateful to Assemblymember Matt Slater for securing this $20,000 in bullet aid funding. This investment will directly support our ongoing efforts to provide welcoming spaces, innovative programming and essential resources for residents of all ages. Public libraries are vital community anchors, and this funding allows us to continue evolving to meet the needs of our patrons. We sincerely appreciate Assemblyman Slater’s strong commitment to supporting local libraries and the communities they enrich.”


Mahopac Public Library Director Michele Capozzella said, Mahopac Public Library is incredibly grateful to Assemblyman Slater for securing these vital funds for the library.  They will fund the modernization of the audio-visual equipment in the Third Floor Meeting Room and improved lighting in the Community Room. These upgrades will increase accessibility and flexibility to provide an environment for collaboration, learning and civic engagement.
