WESTCHESTER COUNTY CORRECTION OFFICERS UNION ENDORSES SLATER FOR ASSEMBLY

YORKTOWN, NY – The Westchester County Correction Officers Benevolent Association announced its endorsement of Yorktown Supervisor Matt Slater for the New York State Assembly. Last week, Slater announced his intention to seek the Republican and Conservative Party endorsements for the 94th Assembly District.

Neil Pellone, President of the WCOBA said, "Matt Slater has been a staunch supporter of law enforcement as both Chief of Staff in the New York State Senate and in his current role Yorktown Town Supervisor. We are pleased to endorse his candidacy for New York State Assembly and look forward to working on the state level on behalf of our members and retirees. Having visited Westchester County's correctional facility in Valhalla I have seen firsthand the challenging and stressful conditions members of WCOBA work every day," Slater said. "Too many Albany politicians are working to strip these officers of their basic protections and make it less safe for them to perform their duties. In the Assembly, I will partner with President Pellone to fight for his members, to keep dangerous criminals in our jails and to make our communities safe. I am once again honored to have WCOBA's support."

Last week the Affiliated Police Associations of Westchester also endorsed Slater for Assembly signaling strong and broad support from local and statewide law enforcement groups.
