With final budget negotiations beginning, Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown) has been appointed by Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay (R,C-Pulaski) to assist in the Joint Budget Conference. As the ranking member of the Library and Education Technology Committee, Slater will join his colleagues in seeking to restore fiscal responsibility to the current budget proposals. While maintaining open and transparent conversations, Slater is committed to bettering New York’s education system and allocating the needed funding to vital programs.
“I am honored to be appointed by Leader Barclay and look forward to remaining vigilant and ensuring our schools receive the proper funding they deserve. As lawmakers, it is our responsibility to keep conversations flowing in the proper direction and reach a consensus that backs what our constituents ask for,” said Slater.
