Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C–Yorktown) announced today he will once again host a diaper drive throughout the month of February to support families in need across the 94th Assembly District.
Diapers are a necessity for infants and toddlers, yet nearly half of families with young children struggle to afford them. To help address this need, donations will be collected from Monday, Feb. 2 through Friday, Feb. 27 at drop-off locations throughout Putnam and Westchester counties in partnership with Putnam Community Action Partnership (CAP) and local municipalities.
“Every parent knows diapers are essential but there are some who struggle to afford them,” said Slater. “I’m proud to once again partner with Putnam CAP and our local communities to support families who are struggling. New York’s affordability crisis continues to impact working families, and this is one small way we can come together to help our neighbors.”
“We are incredibly grateful to Assemblyman Matt Slater for his leadership in organizing this diaper drive. These donations provide essential relief to the low-income families we serve at Putnam CAP, ensuring that every child in our community has access to basic necessities. This partnership is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together for our neighbors,” said Marisa O’Leary, Director, Putnam Community Action Partnership.
All sizes of diapers are needed, with a particular emphasis on larger sizes such as sizes 5, 6 and pull-ups. Donations will be accepted at drop-off locations throughout the district.
Community members wishing to participate are encouraged to drop off diapers during regular business hours at any participating location.
